First off we want to thank everyone for your prayers and support for us as we go through this tough time with Hunter. I have to say that things have gotten a lot better over the last few days and Hunter is REALLY trying to make good decisions! Yesterday, Matt and I met with a child psychologist and she gave us a lot of good advice. She does believe that Hunter suffers from a mental disorder such as bipolar or ODD - it could have come from his birth mom doing drugs when she was pregnant with him or a family history (Bipolar runs on his birth mom's side) or a combination of both. The interesting thing about it is that sometimes the disorders do not start to come out until a year to two before puberty sets in which is just about where Hunter is right now. This would explain why this came on all of a sudden. Hunter is going to start meeting with the psychologist right after the holidays to start working on some of his issues with making poor choices and how to cope with these disorders. She will also work with me and Matt and show us how to react with Hunter and how to help him through any episodes he might have. In February Hunter will be evaluated to see if in fact he does have one of these disorders and what the treatment will be. February seems so far away but that was the quickest they could get us in. We are very confident that between the school, the psychologist, and us we will be able to get Hunter back on track. We are also working on getting Hunter into the Boy Scouts and a couple of other activities that will keep him focused on doing good things. Hunter is such a great kid and doesn't need these things to hinder his future which is what we are facing. We love him so much and no matter what- we would NEVER give up on him. If you have Hunter's e-mail or are connected with him on Facebook - send him some encouraging messages! He would LOVE that!!

I am so full of joy to read a more positive update on Hunter!! We believe in him too. And especially in you and Matt. What a special team you guys are.
