We have learned over the last few weeks that we have to be very careful when we introduce new things to Triniti because if anything causes her to much stress or scares her she could have seizures. So we try to limit things and make everything as calm for her as possible. We have been waiting to take her swimming - because the boys love it so much we want her to enjoy it too. Last night we tried it for the first time... As you can see from the pictures she really didn't even like having her swim suit on! :) Once we got her out to the pool she still didn't like it! She has something against water because she doesn't like her bath either!! She calmed down a little and once I gave her her pacifier she almost went to sleep... We will try again soon - hopefully as she gets older she will like it more.
Keegan on the other hand LOVES the water and is getting very brave!! He jumped off the step and kicked his feet and made his way over to Matt. If he keeps that up he will be swimming by the end of this summer!
Triniti is doing so good on her meds - she did have a seizure tonight (we went to a flee market - where there was LOTS of people, noise, and lights) and I think it was just too much for her. But she has gone almost a week between seizures so we are so happy for that! We are really starting to be able to pick up on things that can trigger them - so we have been trying to control her environment as much as possible. Sometimes we can't avoided them - and when we can't we just try to keep her as calm as can be. I can't wait to talk to her doctor on the 16th - I think he will be surprised as to how well she is doing!! With TSC at the age of 6 months is usually when babies start regressing in their development and also losing the ability to do the things they have already learned. We think about that sometimes but everyday that she continues to smile, laugh, hold her head up, babbles, and tries to roll over we celebrate those days!!

Triniti just wants to be a beach baby (laying on the shore, soaking up the sun), not a water baby. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief that her medicine is controlling her seizures. It's good that you have figured out a pattern in what triggers them. The uncertainty of it feels like a time-bomb, you never know when it's going to go off. That must be tough.
Have you thought about taking Triniti or yourself to the Naturopathic Doctor we take Cayman to? He's in Adrian, MI. We have had great results under his care.
