Finally able to spill the beans...

If you're friends with me on Facebook about a month ago I had put my status as "Just got a huge prayer request answered!! Can't wait to be able to share the news with everyone!! And NO we are NOT pregnant! :)"... We haven't been able to share the news with everyone yet 1.) because it wasn't certain and 2.) because we had a few other people "important" people like Matt's employer to tell first! :)

When we moved to Arizona almost 4 years ago Matt started a job at a hospital out here as the Executive Chef - the hospital was still under construction so Matt has been there since it opened and it's really held a very special place in our hearts. Matt's boss has also been there just as long and this is a very dear person who has become like family to us! This past Thanksgiving Matt's boss put in his notice that he would be leaving the hospital to join another company.  It was a very very sad time for us but after talking with him and others that work for this company we couldn't believe how awesome their benefit plans are! So we started looking into the insurance especially the prescription plan - since we haven't been able to get my medication approved through our current insurance which was a $1500.00 a month copay anyway and we can't pay $6000.00 out of pocket every month we really had to start looking for other ways of getting the medication. After talking with the prescription company I found out through their plan I would be able to get my medication for a $40.00 copay a month.  We couldn't believe it - so we started praying that God would make a way for Matt to get a job with this company as well!

About a month ago the Executive Chef that works under Matt's old boss left the company which opened up a position that Matt is well qualified for! After a month of four LONG interviews and LOTS and LOTS of prayers Matt was offered the position last week and of course accepted it! Best news of all our benefits will start March 1st!! This medication should prolong my need for a bone marrow transplant as well as prolong my life!

Now we just need to pray we can get the medication quick without any issues and that I don't have any adverse reactions with it. I know that I will have a few days a month with flu like symptoms but hopefully that's it.  My doctor did say some people have reactions that are so bad that the medication is then not worth it - so we are going to pray really hard that that's not the case with me!

Please continue to pray that I will be able to get this medication quickly as it really is a "lifesaving" medication for me and that the transition for Matt will be smooth and exactly where God wants him to be!
